Marc Savard for Tyler Seguin?

E-mail Print

Why does it appear that Savard is getting a raw deal in Boston?  Ever since the Bruins were burdoned with the second overall pick, and forced to draft Seguin, a natural centre, it seemed like Savard was destined to be moved.  No doubt that the Bruins were interested in swapping with Edmonton to be able to snag winger Taylor Hall, this way they wouldn't have too many centres and be forced to move one, or sit out the youngster.

Seguin is highly regarded here at SYP and could easily slot into the NHL lineup, but only at the expense of someone already pencilled in.  Savard has the best value and could certainly yield valuable assets, but the treatment this guy is getting (supposedly) is brutal and one that isn't warranted.  Anyone getting Savard should thank Brian Burke for saddling the Bruins with such a terrible spot to pick in.

Speaking of camp-invites, Larry Brooks reports that the Rangers have invited 31-year old forward Ruslan Fedotenko to tryouts.  Expect to see a lot more of this over the
