BOUCHERVILLE - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Disciplinary Prefect, Raymond Bolduc, has announced that Val-d’Or Foreurs defenseman Marco Scandella has been suspended for fifteen games for a hit to the head involving Rimouski Océanic forward Alexandre Durette. The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 3 at the air Creebec Centre in Val-d’Or.
"We will continue to be very stern regarding hits to the head as well as towards any gestures which could compromise the well-being of our players," said QMJHL Commissioner Gilles Courteau. "Moreover, we remain in constant contact with the Rimouski Océanic organization in order to get updates on Alexandre’s health and progress."
Sea Dogs remain in top spot of CHL BMO MasterCard Top 10 rankings for fourth consecutive week
TORONTO, Wednesday, February 10, 2010 – The Canadian Hockey League today announced its most recent BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 rankings for the 2009-10 season.
The Saint John Sea Dogs remain in the top spot for a fourth consecutive week. Two other Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams managed to crack the upper echelon of the CHL: The Moncton Wildcats and the Drummondville Voltigeurs.

Bournival CHL Player of the Week and Poulin named defensive player of the week
Bournival collected two goals and six assists, helping the Cataractes win all three of their games. Moreover, he posted a +3 rating and added six bodychecks. The Shawinigan native played his best game of the week on Saturday, registering four helpers in a 5-3 victory over the Lewiston MAINEiacs. Since the beginning of the season, Bournival has recorded 20 goals and 30 assists in 45 contests.
Poulin wins the defensive award for the second time this season. The 19-year-old draft pick of the New York Islanders stopped 74 of 78 shots to backstop his team to victories over the Quebec Remparts and the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He maintained a 2.00 goals-against-average and .949 save percentage during that span. Victoriaville is now tied for first in the TELUS Central Division standings with Drummondville.
