NHL Translation: Top-4 Defenseman

NHL Comparible:

“I think you watch NHL hockey right now and he has the ability to play at that level. You don’t want to compare him to players who are there, but his game is very similar to Nicklas Lidstrom’s game. He will block a shot when need be, he is smart positionally and physical when need be, but offensively, his instincts are incredible. That is his style. I think he’ll have a great chance to play and play for a while in the NHL.”
Mark Osiecki, Assistant Coach, University of Wisconsin
“He provides skills that are difficult to teach. He’s very talented with the puck. He’s talented in seeing the ice and being able to make a play. Having that guy that can run the power play, having that guy that can get you out of your own zone, are commodities that all National Hockey League teams are looking for.”
Mike Eaves, Head Coach, University of Wisconsin
“His strengths are his puck control, his poise with the puck and his passing ability, but he has turned into and worked hard at being a good defender. He has a great stick, he will be physical when he has to be. In hockey, there are so many two-on-ones and he is really good at defending that. He has an understanding on who is the most dangerous player.”
Mark Osiecki, Assistant Coach, University of Wisconsin
